The event sustainability data you never had time to collect now arrives automatically

Collecting event data from your registration platform, CRM, and project management tools used to take days for a single event. With the EventZero event carbon data API, now live, it syncs into EventZero automatically. Your sustainability reporting is built from data pulled straight from the source, and nobody on your team has to re-key a thing. The developer documentation is public, and API access is available on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus plans.

Event data lives everywhere

Your event data is spread across many systems: your registration platform, your project management tool, your CRM, and the separate systems your venues, caterers, production teams, and travel providers each run. Pulling it together for one event takes time. Across a full program of events, it becomes a job of its own.

Many organizations still do this by hand. In a 2024 KPMG survey of 550 board members, executives, and managers, 47% said spreadsheets were their primary system for managing ESG data. About two-thirds of respondents work at organizations with more than $1 billion in revenue.

EventZero brings this data into one place. It applies recognized carbon accounting methodology and current, officially published regional emissions factors, then turns the results into event-level and program-level insight: where your impact is concentrated, how it is changing over time, and where reduction effort will matter most. The API makes getting that data in faster.

How the EventZero API works

The API connects EventZero directly to the source of your data, whether that is an event management platform, a registration system, a project management tool, or a CRM. Data syncs in without re-keying, and your planners take on no extra data entry. EventZero calculates the results and builds the reporting.

Teams use it in two ways:

  • Sync data from your core event systems. Bring in events and the activity data they hold, such as attendee travel and accommodation, from your registration platform or CRM.
  • Send headline results where you report. If your organization or your clients report in another system, export each event’s Scope 1, 2, and 3 totals there.

The API covers 16 carbon-source record types, including accommodation, flights, venue energy, catering, waste, and freight. Everything it brings in feeds the event dashboards and program-level summaries your team already works from in EventZero.

Why syncing from the source matters

Every time event data is exported, copied into a spreadsheet, and retyped somewhere else, there is another chance for a figure to drift from what was actually recorded. The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard makes transparency one of its five core accounting principles and expects reporting to be “based on a clear audit trail.” Data that moves directly from the system where it was recorded is easier to trace than numbers rebuilt by hand.

With the API in place, your event figures start from your registration platform, CRM, or project tool, not from a spreadsheet someone assembled under deadline.

Who it’s for

  • Corporate event teams with a sustainability reporting requirement, who need their events program included in organization-wide reporting without a manual consolidation step.
  • Agencies and production companies that report sustainability data to their clients and want to do it without adding cost and hours for their team.
  • Government and public sector teams that need event reporting built on a documented methodology and traceable data.
  • Event teams that want to report on impact but don’t have time for spreadsheets or the budget to bring in a consultant for every event.

Availability

API access is included on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus plans. It is not part of the 14-day free trial. The developer portal and documentation are public now, and we set up credentials for each organization on request.

If your event data lives in more than one system, the API brings it into EventZero automatically, so your team can spend its time on what the data shows, not on collecting it.
